Dr. Nelson grew up in Delavan, Wisconsin; did his undergraduate work at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin; and graduated from Northwestern University Dental School. Like so many Washingtonians, his move to Lakewood was initiated by service in the US Military. He spent a year at Ft. Lewis, and a year with the 1st Air Cavalry Division in Viet Nam. He is the remaining original member of the group of four dentists that formed Dental Health Associates in 1972. Dr. Nelson enjoys glass blowing, theater, boating, model railroading, and most of all, being a grandparent. As noted, Dr. Nelson attended Northwestern University dental school, graduating in 1969 with the honor of being nominated to membership in the national dental honor society - Omicron Kappa Upsilon-representing excellence in both academic and clinical studies among his classmates. He is currently a member of Pierce County Dental Society, Washington State Dental Society, The American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Nelson's 33 year association with Dental Health Associates has provided a most rewarding professional experience for him. He values highly the daily opportunity to associate with other quality-conscious dentists focused on clinical excellence and the benefits his patients derive from being part of the larger network. He continues to place strong emphasis on staying current with dental procedures and technology; and the practice is on the leading edge for patient safety and enviromental protection. He credits the very capable staff, second to none, for enhancing the patients' total dental health care experience.
Dr. Stevens grew up in Utah. He attended Brigham Young University where he met and married his wife, Linda. They are the proud parents of 5 children and 5+ grandchildren. Dr. Stevens attended Northwestern University Dental School. In 1979 they moved to Lakewood and joined Dental Health Associates where Dr. Stevens has practiced for the last 26 years. Dr. Stevens comments that he loves being a dentist. "I enjoy working with a great staff and wonderful patients. We know that not everyone is comfortable going to the dentist and so we work hard to make the experience painless and even pleasant. Dentistry is changing and getting better all the time and we accept the challenge to stay up to date on all the new technologies. The recent advances in cosmetic dentistry give us the opportunity to offer every patient their most attractive smile."
Dr. Kim attended the University of California at San Diego and after serving in the Navy for 5 years, also attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He loves spending time with his two children and his wife, Hanna, and likes to read and play tennis.
